This month I decided to expand my business to the world of weddings! I discovered something called “live wedding painter” and decided to go for it!
Why? Why weddings? I love weddings. I guess I should say, I love going to wedding and I love LOOKING at weddings. There are so many possible combinations of colors, flower types, locations, dresses, etc. It’s fascinating to me. I have a confession. There was a time when anyone on my Facebook friends list got married, the moment they posted their wedding photos, I would look through all of them. Even if I was not close with them, even so, I would scour their pictures. It’s such a good feeling to see the bride’s dreams and tireless work and research come to life.
Every wedding is beautiful! I wanted to be a part of this amazing day. I started by painting from photos of weddings with the hope of also moving to live wedding painting. This way I will be a part of the magical day.
Additionally, as an artist, my eye and brush will highlight things the photographer might not. Maybe the bride spent many hours scouring bridal shops for the dress she’s been dreaming of for years. The photographer can capture her beautiful dress, but I can emphasize it. Making the focal point of the painting her beautiful lace train and veil. Or maybe she spent many night looking through Instagram posts for that perfect Southern Wedding spot. Oak trees, hanging Spanish moss, and beautiful spring blossoms. I can just taste the sweet Southern air now! That’s what I want to capture.
